Our enrollment this year is 284 (267 last year) which includes 20 preschool students and 80 open-enrolled in students. We have 8 open-enrolled out students (which are not in the count). Our high school students just completed the Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITEDs). Students who improved their scores by a pre-determined margin will enjoy an afternoon at the YMCA later this year (after we receive their scores). Our fall sports teams have been very successful. Our volleyball team competed in the regional finals this fall. They started slow but finished strong pushing Treynor to 4 games. The football team has gone undefeated in district play for the third year in a row and ended the season in the State play off quarter finals.

The Stanton Community School District is located at the intersection of Elliott Street and Halland Avenue. The school facilities at this site include all grades, K-12. The Elementary School Building added to the facility in 1992. The Stanton Community School District maintains a 0% dropout rate, 62% of the students have scored a 20 or higher on the ACT, and 96% of graduates attend postsecondary colleges. Graduates of the Stanton Community School District have completed four or more years of English and at least three years of Science, Social Studies, and Math. The school also offers approximately 20 advanced placement classes.

It is generally agreed that the school district is a catalyst to development and attracts population through open enrollment to the services of the community. This statistic is certainly a feature future business development would consider before locating in the community.
